Our route takes in some of the best off-road riding that Morocco has to offer but also provides an opportunity to take in the sights, soak up the atmosphere and meet the real people of Morocco.

The excitement begins as you travel from the UK to Ouarzazate. Perched on a plateau at the southern edge of the High Atlas Mountains, it is known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert and is the perfect place to start your Moroccan adventure.
After a comfortable night’s sleep, the day begins with an introduction to your bike and a short briefing, then it’s out onto the trails to really get your adventure under way. A nice gentle morning gives you a chance to relax and get into your stride.
After a break for lunch, we head off towards Erg Chigaga Desert Camp and a first chance to discover those famous Moroccan sand dunes.
The day is brought to an end after a well-earned evening meal with a chance to relive the excitement of the day round a nice warm camp fire, followed by a night in the traditional Berber bivouac.
An early breakfast gets day 2 under way as we head off towards Mhamid on more hard-packed trails. Our morning coffee stop is another chance to take in a little more of the local culture before we pick up one of the famous Dakar trails past the military border post, heading east towards the Sahara Desert.
Tonight’s stop is a hotel near the village of Tafraoute and after a leisurely evening meal, there’s time to enjoy a well-earned beer or two.
A nice leisurely start this morning as we make our way towards Erg Chebbi, the home of Morocco’s famous Cathedral Dunes
Our home for the next two nights is the Nomads Palace, a beautiful oasis of luxury at the southern tip of the dunes.
Having arrived in time for lunch, the afternoon provides an opportunity to relax by the pool and recharge the batteries before an evening introduction to the best techniques for dune riding from our very own sand master Mick Extance. Another hearty meal brings the day to a close with a chance to discuss the next day’s full on dune riding experience.
A full day exploring those famous dunes, only interrupted by a nice lunch and an even nicer cold drink or two..
There’s always the option to skip the afternoon session for those who’d prefer a little more pool time. Then why not finish the day in style, with a camel ride out to watch the sun disappear over the horizon, with a beer in one hand and probably a camera in the other to catch that all important sunset picture.
The arrival of day 5 means saying a fond farewell to the sand dunes as we make our way north west to Todra Gorge. A spectacular narrow canyon with 200m high sides, in places only 20m apart.
It’s a wonder of the natural world that has to be seen to be believed.
Ride through the river and grab a coffee at the Yasmina which nestles itself under the overhanging rocks in the centre of the gorge, before heading off to our hotel for the night and a welcome opportunity to relax and enjoy some more great local food.
Day 6 brings with it another early start as we make our way back towards our starting point at Ouarzazate. The route takes us through Todra Gorge once more, so there’s an opportunity to take a few extra pictures as we go. Our final day is a great mix of terrains as we wind our way through parts of the High Atlas Mountains arriving back at our hotel for a nice shower, a great evening meal and time to reflect on what has to be the perfect off-road riding experience.
After a final night in the hotel it’s sadly time to say our farewells and start the journey home. This is where we get the chance to look back and reflect on what has to be the perfect two wheeled holiday.
